Inspection and Performance Evaluation by SIRIM

The first level of product safety assurance involves SIRIM conducting type and performance evaluations. The objective of these type tests is to validate that all imported goods comply with the prescribed standards and regulatory prerequisites, which encompass both electrical and mechanical safety mandates. Additionally, energy performance assessments are undertaken to ensure alignment with the Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS). Evaluation of Test Reports by the Energy Commission (ST)

The importer of electrical appliances must procure a Certificate of Approval (CoA) prior to initiating the import process. The CoA, which signifies product approval, is issued by the Energy Commission. A sample CoA is attached for your convenience. Prior to market release, a product must also possess an Energy Efficiency Label, an example of which is attached. Shipment Examination by SIRIM

To maintain adherence to SIRIM's standards, imported products must undergo a consignment test, which involves sampling. Upon successful completion of the test, the product is adorned with a SIRIM-ST label. Please find an example of this label attached for your reference.
